About this page,- and me

So, why “Bored Engineer”? I have always had ‘a thing’ for engineering (Computer,Electrical and whenever I can get my hand on it: mechanical) I was curious about it. I bought my first computer from my earnings as ‘paper boy’ .. to actually play ‘paper boy’ on a second hand computer. Seems smart, hu? I ended up graduating in applied computer science from University many (many) years later.

That doesn’t explain the whole ‘Bored Engineer" thing though, right? As it stands, one can’t always choose what one works in, right? Especially when there is stuff to be paid and money to be earned for all those other things. When my company asked me to be a project manager, I accepted. Then I moved into middle management and switched from nvim to Office Products. Oddly enough,I do enjoy this as well.

When I took on a management role, my hobbies changed. I broadened my hobbies. Besides running, hiking, and tabletop games, I now explore homelabs, work on ESP32 projects, and get into 3D printing. I have started to challenge myself with that. That involved a lot of fails, but also some wins. This blog aims to document all of this.
